2020 Girl Scout Day Programs
Work towards earning a badge with Como Park Zoo and Conservatory Staff! We offer a variety of classes that allow girl scouts to take part in unique experiences while meeting new friends. Each class will include fun and interactive activities to get you thinking about the world in a whole new way.

Polar Bear Patch
Program Level: Brownies (Grades 2 and 3)
Duration: 90 minutes
Start your day by making enrichment for the bears during this interactive class. In addition, you will learn about the adaptations that allow these animals to live in the harsh Arctic environment. Finally, you’ll explore everyday choices you can make that will help polar bears living in the wild. Participation patches are included.
Cost: $15/Scout and $10/adult.
Senses Badge
Program Level: Brownies (Grades 2 and 3)
Duration: 120 minutes
Let the plants and animals of Como Park Zoo and Conservatory guide you on a journey of the senses! We will explore all five senses through a series of games and activities while learning more about amazing creatures of the natural world. Badges are included with program.
Saturday January 25 10:30am-12:30pm
Household Elf Badge
Program Level: Brownies (Grades 2 and 3)
Duration: 120 minutes
At Como Park Zoo and Conservatory, they like to keep things green and show others how to do the same. Step into a world of earth-friendly cleaners, water-saving techniques, energy-saving tips and all things recycled. Discover ways to take care of your home, your family and your world. Meet some of Como’s animal and plant ambassadors and learn how you can help by using your new green skills. Badges are included with program.
Saturday February 15 10:30am-12:30pm
Flower Badge
Program Level: Juniors (Grades 4 and 5)
Duration: 120 minutes
Everyone loves flowers! Come and explore the world of flowers with Como Park Zoo and Conservatory! Discover that there’s more to flowers than just good looks. Explore some of the different kinds of flowers in the Conservatory and learn how they benefit people and animals. Badges are included with program.
Saturday March 28 and April 25 10:30am-12:30pm
NEW Option! Organize your own date for a Badge program at Como! If above dates are inconvenient, please contact Como Education to book a Badge program for another date. Minimum 20 scouts per Badge program if reserving your own date. Above prices apply.
Please note: at least one adult chaperone must accompany their troop during all Scouts programs at Como Park Zoo and Conservatory. A $50 non-refundable deposit is required to secure a date.
