Kudu

Species: Tragelaphus imberbis
Geographic Range: Eastern and southern Africa
Size: 31-47 inches long, 120-300lbs
Lifespan: 8-14 years
Conservation Status: Near Threatened

Fun Facts:

  • Kudu can run as fast as 40 miles per hour.
  • Kudu rely on their leaping ability to escape from predators.
  • Female kudu generally live in herds of up to 24 Kudu while males tend to live alone.
  • The coloration and patterning of the lesser kudu’s coat provides it with camouflage in wooded thickets.
  • Como’s kudu are Lesser Kudu
