- Harbor seals have very good hearing.
- Harbor seals have a large volume of blood compared to many pinnipeds. This blood serves as additional oxygen storage.
- A thick layer of blubber is essential to keeping a harbor seal warm, especially because its hair is so thin.
- Adult harbor seals can remain submerged up to 25 minutes but most divers are 5-8 minutes in duration.
