Hop Into Spring Weekend!

Spring is almost here…can you feel it in the air? Show your excitement by jumping up and down…or how about hopping? March 25 & 26 we celebrate spring with the opening of the Spring Flower Show and a special “Hop Into Spring Weekend” with games, crafts, activities, special ambassador animals, SPIRE Sparky Shows and more!
Join us from 10am – 4pm on Saturday, March 25th and Sunday, March 26th as we celebrate Spring with a special fun family-friendly environmental education weekend.
Join the scavenger hunt in search of colorful painted eggs…huge OSTRICH eggs! Some of Como’s most colorful ambassador amphibians will be at our Como Cares station, visitors will be able to create their own fun craft, partake in a music station for mimicking Minnesota’s amphibian chorus, and for the wee ones, free play on our pond rugs & tree log. If you are spring cleaning, search your drawers for old cell phones and bring them to Como where we will recycle them as part of the Gorillas On The Line challenge, an annual global mobile phone recycling challenge organized by the Gorilla SAFE engagement team with participants from across the country and around the globe.
March 25 also marks the opening of the Spring Flower Show in the Marjorie McNeely Conservatory’s Sunken Garden. This year’s Spring Flower Show will showcase hundreds of white and purple tulips with daffodils, pansies viola and delphinium adding even more color which will provide much needed vibrancy to those weary of winter.

Como Camera Challenge – look for signs of spring in the Zoo Grounds & Conservatory that show the start of spring – such as buds on the trees, birds singing, bulbs blooming (conservatory), animals shedding – take a picture with your phone or camera –show your love for Spring & Como by posting your photos to Instagram, Twitter & Facebook tagged with #SpringatComo and #MyMMC
