Washed Ashore Sea Stories

June 3 @ 3:30 pm

Washed Ashore is a powerful traveling exhibit featuring giant sculptures made entirely from debris collected on Oregon beaches.

Created from recovered plastics in their original colors, these stunning works of art highlight the impact of ocean pollution and inspire guests to reduce waste, recycle properly, and limit single-use plastics.

Guests are invited to learn more during daily Washed Ashore talks at noon and 3:30 p.m., where Como educators will share the stories behind the sculptures and ways we can all help protect our planet.

Featured at zoos and botanical gardens across North America, Washed Ashore will be on display at Como from May 23 through Labor Day.

This special exhibit is made possible through support from Minnesota’s Legacy Amendment.
