I don’t care what you build there, nothing can replace monkey island. Why couldn’t you just make repairs and leave it alone? I went through the entire zoo and see only 3 buildings / exhibits from the original zoo: the main building, the little stone house-like building that once had peacocks all around it, and a ticket stand. Everything else — aside from the hooved animals — is gone. My own kids are in their 40’s and they can’t even recognize the zoo anymore. My grandson even remembers monkey island and now it’s gone too. Como Zoo used to be a little jewel but it’s now just like all other zoos in the country. Nothing special.
I’m so happy to see these updates being made. Such an adorable zoo that seems to get better with time. The animals within new habitats seem much more natural and at ease when we visit than in their old, concrete enclosures (specifically the gorilla’s and the polar bears!!)

I disagree with Karen. I like how Como Zoo has evolved. Great work!
My comments are waiting moderation???? Like you plan to delete what you don’t like???
It’s called updating. I grew up going to como and my first job was at the zoo. the zoo has never been better than it is now.
