Flower Shows
Winter Flower Show
January 9 through March 14, 2021
The 2021 Winter Flower Show will feature a stunning display of flowering trees and shrubs. Highlights will include purple azaleas, blue hibiscus, and pink camellias. Lilies, veltheimia, and amaryllis will add beautiful pink and red accents throughout the show.
Spring Flower Show
March 20 through May 2, 2021
The 2021 Spring Flower Show will be a cheerful bumble bee inspired plant palette. Yellow, purple-black, and white tulips will dominate the show. A variety of tall to small daffodils, fragrant hyacinths, and white lilies will add to the display.
Summer Flower Show
May 8 through October 3, 2021
The Summer Flower Show features a harmonious color palette of purple, magenta, lavender, and red summer annuals. ‘Cajun Blue’ hibiscus, fuchsia, petunias, and verbena are among the flowers featured in the longest running flower show of the year. Silvery blue accents of lavender and succulents will accompany the summer annual display.
Fall Flower Show
October 9 through November 28, 2021
Sunken Garden will be closed for mid-show change November 1 – November 5
While many Minnesota gardens are winding down for the winter season, the Sunken Garden at the Marjorie McNeely Conservatory will be in full bloom! The Fall Flower Show features a variety of chrysanthemums and fall favorites. The first half of show will be yellow and silver. Dwarf sunflowers, marigolds, and ornamental peppers will add to the cheerful display. The second half of the Fall Flower Show will be equal parts orange, yellow, and white.
Holiday Flower Show
December 4, 2021 through January 9, 2022
The Holiday Flower Show tradition began in 1925 and continues to be the most anticipated and visited flower attraction at the Conservatory today. Red, orange, and yellow novelty Poinsettias will fill the Sunken Garden with warmth and light. Several new varieties of poinsettias will be on display including ‘Orange Glow’, the first truly orange poinsettia and ‘Christmas Mouse’, a red poinsettia with rounded bracts that resemble the shape of mouse ears.
