Como Harbor to Open with 10am Ribbon Cutting Ceremony on June 3

Como Harbor is a $21 million reinvention and improvement of Como Zoo’s seals and sea lions exhibit in the heart of Como Zoo. The new, world-class exhibit will provide an immersive and naturalistic setting that features rocky outcroppings designed to reflect the Pacific coast. Como Harbor features two saltwater pools with above and below-water viewing, shaded amphitheater and stage. Como Harbor is designed to provide expert care for the animals with elements such as underwater transfers that allow seals and sea lions to swim in and out of spaces, and multiple locations for animal training sessions to allow zookeepers to provide specialized care for all three species that call Como Harbor home.

Also opening is the exhibit’s neighboring food and beverage outlet, Pier 56. Pier 56, operated by Lancer Hospitality, derives its name from the year 1956 — when Archie Brand brought his famous Sparky the Seal Show to Como Zoo. Pier 56 will feature all your favorite snacks and beverages including Fish & Chips, Popcorn Shrimp, Mini Donut Bags and Nathan’s Famous Hot Dogs.
