Spring is almost here…can you feel it in the air? Show your excitement by jumping up and down…or how about hopping? March 23 & 24 we celebrate spring with the opening of the Spring Flower Show and a special “Hop Into Spring” weekend with games, crafts, Blaze Sparky Shows, and special guests: Children’s Theatre Company!
Join us from 10am – 4pm on Saturday, March 23th and Sunday, March 24th as we celebrate Spring with a special fun family-friendly environmental education weekend.
Visit with the Children’s Theater Company (CTC) to participate in a “Seek & Find” around the zoo, see how far you can frog jump, and make a frog or toad puppet to take home! CTC professional Teaching Artists will also be leading 30-minute Story Theatre sessions for kids and their grown-ups to participate in active games and theatre exercises that will spark imagination, promote creativity, and bring the Frog & Toad book to life!

If you are spring cleaning, search your drawers for old cell phones and bring them to Como where we will recycle them as part of the Gorillas On The Line challenge, an annual global mobile phone recycling challenge organized by the Gorilla SAFE engagement team with participants from across the country and around the globe.
March 23 also marks the opening of the Spring Flower Show in the Marjorie McNeely Conservatory’s Sunken Garden. The 2024 Spring Flower Show will feature early spring favorites such as blue delphinium, purple foxglove, and snapdragons. Fragrant white hyacinth, Spanish bluebells, white daffodils, purple crocus, blue grape hyacinth, along with a blend of purple and red tulips will adorn this spring floral display.
