It’s time to celebrate Earth Day—Como-style! Join us Saturday, April 26 and Sunday, April 27 for our annual Party for the Planet weekend. This family-friendly event is packed with hands-on activities, games, keeper talks, crafts, and conservation inspiration for all ages.
This year’s Association of Zoos and Aquariums (AZA) theme is “Spring into Action!”, encouraging everyone to create habitats, reduce litter, get outside, and take real steps to protect our planet and its amazing species.
🌟 All-Day Activities on the Covered Porch
Explore, play, and learn with activities running all day long!
📱 Gorillas on the Line… Answer the Call!
Bring your old cell phones and small electronics to help save gorillas in the wild! We’re proud to partner with Gorilla SAFE (Saving Animals From Extinction) for this global recycling challenge.
💡 Donation kiosks and an info table will be set up—every recycled device helps fund gorilla conservation work in Africa!
🐾 SAFE Animal Table
Get hands-on with biofacts from animals supported by the SAFE program. Feel real fur, feathers, and more as you learn how we can all help save species.
🎨 Paper Plate Birdfeeder Craft
Decorate a paper plate birdfeeder to take home and fill with seed. It’s a great way to care for your backyard birds!

🧠 Animal Trivia Wheel
Spin the wheel, answer fun wildlife questions, and test your animal knowledge!
♻️ Recycling Race
Hop across our eco-mat, picking up recyclable items along the way. It’s a fun, active way to learn how to sort and recycle!
🐝 Pollinator Toss Game
Toss pollinator balls into the correct habitat buckets and learn how bees, butterflies, and bats help our planet bloom.
✍️ Make a Pledge Station
What will you do to help the Earth? Make a pledge and add it to our community commitment wall!
